Construction of site utilities for new middle school for Snohomish school district in highly
sensitive soils conditions with a short schedule duration. Work included construction of 2 large
large diameter pipe retention systems located in football field.
Spotlight
Drainage facilities. Institutional construction. Environmentally sensitive construction techniques.
Problem
Challenges included working in extremely high moisture sensitive soils throughout the winter,
along with multiple subcontractors performing tasks in shared confined areas.
Solution
Working closely with the GC superintendent and other subcontractors was a key to performance.
Soil treatment was also used to keep working and on schedule.
Results
Work completed within schedule constraints. Multiple weekly meetings and constant
communication with other subcontractors proved successful in maintaining production and
relationships.
