Total development consisted of 2200 acres with 1400 deeded back as open space. 800 acres developed into 3200 residential units and 3,500,000 SF of commercial development. Sajasa involvement began in 1997 at the outset of the development and continued into 2004.
Spotlight
Multiple utility crews construct 5 separate divisions in 6 months from start to finish.
Problem
The 2002 construction season goal was to complete 6 divisions for sale by years end. The availability of engineering and construction approvals resulted in the need to build 5 divisions from start to finish in just 6 months to meet these sales obligations. The scope of work included all normally expected utility installations as well as the installation of 60″ trunk storm sewer 35′ deep and a vast array of communication and third party utilities to satisfy the projected needs of this high tech development. In addition to ongoing work already under contract from the previous season and backbone infrastructure work that was being performed to service the site, SCI was now called upon to undertake the task of meeting extremely demanding delivery deadlines.
Solution
Schedules and resource loading needs were developed and analyzed to ensure that objectives could be met. The demanding obligations required that as many as 7 utility crews were employed by Sajasa onsite at one time.
Results
All six divisions were completed and recorded on schedule.
